Dominic Martin Lopez is currently the CEO and founder of the Kekoa Veteran Foundation. Kekoa is a special term that stands for "the warrior" in Hawaiian. He is a Navy combat veteran who has served for 16 years and is a 3rd generation Navy Seabee. As an Equipment Operator (E.O.), he had many roles that involved providing combat support for the 1st Marine Division, search and rescue and emergency road clearing for Hurricane Katrina, and combat contingency in Albania. He made a return to Iraq as well with Seal Team 5. Dominic is also a certified combat skills instructor. He trained Seabees attached to Seal Team units as well as Naval Amphibious units. His most notable deployments were Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn. He currently resides with his son in Montebello, CA and volunteers in various communities throughout Los Angeles County. He works with children as well as homeless and mentally ill veterans.
